| 1)
Why 5/16" of hardwood, not a full ½" or 3/4"? |
The
majority of solid wood flooring and laminate flooring is made with
a Tongue and Groove (T&G). The portion of the flooring that
is above the Tongue is the wear layer or the thickness of flooring
that can be resanded when refinishing is necessary. This wear layer
is almost always less that the 5/16" layer of hardwood that
we have in all of our borders and medallions. This ensures that
you will get the same or more sanding out of Premier Inlays as the
surrounding flooring.
| 2)
Can Premier Inlays be installed in pre-finished flooring? |
Yes.
We need to have a sample of the flooring you are using to measure
the thickness. The medallion or border will then be sanded as close
to that dimension as possible. Greater care must be taken by the
floor installer when working in pre-finished floor.
| 3) Can Premier Inlays be installed in laminate flooring such as Pergo? |
| 4) What sizes do your medallions come in? |
We have 6 standard sizes for most of our wood floor medallions, 3', 4', and 5' diameter round and 3’x4-1/2’, 4'x6' and 5'x7-1/2' ovals. Click on the small picture for a larger photo. We also can make custom sizes and shapes. The price depends on what is needed.
| 5) Can I get different woods? |
Yes.
You can specify the woods you would like to use. The placement of
the woods depends on the cutting program. We will send you a line
drawing with the woods in the correct positions. You can purchase
sample woods if you are unsure of the species you need.
| 6)
Why don't you have prices listed? |
Premier
Inlays products are usually made up order by order. There are many
different options that are available, like different woods, thickness,
installation techniques. We are happy to quote prices based on your
exact needs.
There
is a 60' minimum for borders or an initial set up charge will be
added to your order. There is no minimum order on medallions.
| 8) How soon can I get my order? |
Usually
within 2-3 weeks from time of confirmed order to delivery. Some
orders can be processed sooner. Some may take a little longer.
| 9)
Can I order something custom? |
Yes,
we are happy to quote custom designs. The price is based on the
time needed to draw the design and to cut and manufacture the design
as well as the size and wood species specified. We would be able
to give you a quote based on a drawing or photo.
10) What if I don't like the product after I get it?
Can I return it? |
We
will accept returns with prior telephone approval with a 20% restocking
charge on standard products. We are not able to accept returns on
custom orders. If an item is damaged in shipment or has manufacturing
defects (see product information and liability below), you may return
it for a full refund. Premier Inlays encourages your telephone calls
to make sure that what you are ordering is what you really want.
If you are a complete novice at wood floors, we encourage you to
visit your local flooring contractor or designer. We can't take
the place of them. Premier Inlays Web Site is best for those people
who have done their homework on inlays and are quite sure of what
they want.
